Partnering up with corsetry creator Laced Creations, to make a unique and galactic dress. Laced Creations challenged me to create an idea for a corset design, which she would amplify with her abilities as a seamstress and stylist. The project was made in our spare time outside work and qualified us for the top 5 in the
”Foundations Revealed” 2024 competition.
Princess Nebula
We were inspired by the concept of places where we fantasize
about other worlds, and the feeling of gazing at the clouds and loosing ourselves to the stories of our fantasy.
Galaxies were another big contributor to the final design, as this was one of my favorite things to paint; I find these big whirlpools of space,
are like magical windows to other worlds. But how would it look, if a garment was a portal into another world?
Working with the natural contours of the corset,
I played with the contrast between light and dark in an almost monochromatic sea of cloud and sky. - Which Laced Creations emphasized by with chunky
facet beads, giving texture to the clouds themselves and Rhinestones mimicking the stars behind.
The dark oil-spill rhinestones and crystals, go hand in hand with the dark parts of the corset, while the clear white
enhance the light midsection of the corset when it catches light.
